The monster-verse that Legendary Pictures has been trying to kickstart with Godzilla and other giant monsters at the center has seen mixed results so far. But one installment of the franchise that has Kaiju fans as excited as Avengers: Endgame had comic book lovers is the upcoming Godzilla Vs. Kong.
The Evil Dead is one of the longest-running and most popular horror franchises in the world, offering a unique combination of comedy and horror to fans in a way that few other series in the genre do. Given its popularity, folks have long asked Netflix to include the series on their streaming platform's horror lineup, and it seems they've finally listened, as the original Evil Dead will be available on Netflix from January 10th, 2020.
Back when the trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League movie first dropped, one of the most talked-about moments from the video was a few seconds of a clip of Bruce Wayne standing gazing sadly at a 3d image of a person. All that was visible of the person's form was legs encased in some body-hugging blue-gold costume and a short red cape. The scene was removed from the final movie, and fans have been speculating about the identity of the figure ever since. Snyder recently took to social media to reveal the truth of that scene:
The Spider-Man movies under the MCU have given us arguably the most popular incarnation of Peter Parker ever, in addition to some great villains from the comics. Yet, ironically, Spidey's most popular antagonist is still to meet him in a live-action film.
Possibly the single most whistle-worthy moment from the cinemas in 2019 was when Captain America lifted Thor's enchanted hammer Mjolnir in Avengers: Endgame and used it to battle Thanos. The magical weapon can only be lifted by the noblest of warriors, and Cap proved he had what it takes to wield the power of the God of Thunder. And now, in the comic book Avengers #28, Cap has picked up the hammer once again, this time against Thor himself.
The Conjuring universe is the gift that keeps on giving to horror fans. Each movie in the franchise features multiple ghosts and demons, and many of those terrifying characters get their own spinoff movies. That is what happened with The Nun, Anabelle, and possibly The Crooked Man. And now, according to rumors, a new name joins the list, The Bride AKA The Woman in the Wedding Dress.
One of the most unexpected parts of Avengers: Endgame (or completely expected, considering the character's popularity), was bringing Loki back from the dead and allowing him to escape once again, this time with an Infinity Stone. The fallout of that storyline will be explored in the Loki series being planned for Disney+ and now, Tom Hiddleston has taken to social media to announce that the prep work for the show has begun with a behind-the-scenes photo.
Opinion over the Joker movie and its message for society may be hotly debated, but everyone agrees that Joaquin Phoenix was brilliant in the titular role, thanks not only to his acting but also his emaciated appearance in the film, suggestive of a deeply unhealthy life filled with deprivation. According to director Todd Phillips though, Phoenix refused to consult a nutritionist for his weight loss regimen, instead choosing to make do with eating only a single apple a day to lose 52 pounds in record time.
